Halloween, Senior Project, and Christmas!

Well I have some catching up to do.....
First, a Halloween update.  Jordan and I decided to go as Astrid and Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon.  It was a blast! We of course couldn't find the costumes anywhere, so I ended up making them.  I was quite impressed with how Jordan's turned out, my needed a little more time and work.  We also decided that long hair isn't Jordan's best look.  But we still had a blast! halloween is always a fun time for us.  2 years ago on October 25th Jordan and I had our first date, and 1 year ago on October 25th Jordan proposed, October holds a lot of memories for us :)

On November 5th and 6th I performed my senior project.  It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, and I'm so relieved I made it through.  My performance consisted of me dancing at high energy by myself for 5 minutes and 30 seconds, which is a really long time for a solo! A reasonable length for a solo is probably 2-2 1/2 minutes.  On top of this extremely physically demanding dance, I also got sick the week of the performance. I had lots of doubt and I came so close to just giving up. The last thing I wanted to do was make a fool of myself on stage for my senior project.  But Jordan being the wonderful supportive husband he is agreed to give me a blessing, this made all the difference.  By performance day I was able to do the dance, not even close to perfect, but good enough to accept.  I'm so grateful for priesthood blessings.  I've learned to never give up on something until you've put it completely into the Lord's hands. The weekend of the performance was also very fun because my family came into town! I love them and I had a blast with them!
My mom, my sister, and me after the performance

flowers from family and friends, the best part about performing!

My cute nephew Gabriel!

Our apartment is officially decked out for Christmas! Jordan and I bought our first Christmas tree and Christmas decorations.  It was so much fun! and we can't wait for Christmas.

Though Deepening Trials

This song keeps popping into my head lately,

Though deepening trials throng your way,
Press on, press on, ye Saints of God!
Ere long the resurrection day
Will spread its life and truth abroad.

Though outward ills await us here,
The time, at longest, is not long,
Ere Jesus Christ will reappear
Surrounded by a glorious throng.

Lift up your hearts in praise to God,
Let your rejoicings never cease.
Though tribulations rage abroad
Christ says, "In me, ye shall have peace."

These lyrics are just amazing and so true!  There's been a lot of really crummy stuff happening lately, and sometimes its hard to not let it get me down.  But this song tells me exactly what I need to hear when I'm having a tough time! Life is beautiful and there is so much reason to rejoice because of Christ, his resurrection  and his atonement.  Its really hard to stay down on yourself when you remember that you have a personal Savior, someone who knows you and is always there for you.  I find Joy in the gospel, and I find joy in my husband.  Its been such an amazing blessing to be married to Jordan and we are happy everyday just thinking about our future together.  I hope that when the storm hits that everyone has a safe shelter to go to, that everyone can find those special things that bring them joy.

Good Bye Facebook!

Jordan and I have officially deleted our facebooks, and we are very proud.  Why? you may ask, for a number of reasons, but in the end its just because we felt it would be a good thing.  So now we are going to start blogging more, or at least that is the plan :)

I LOVE US!!!

Life has been so busy and quite stressful for me and Jordan lately, but I'm learning to appreciate everything that comes my way and I just want Jordan to know how much I love him.

Dear Jordan,

I love us!  You make my life more wonderful than I could ever imagine and marrying you is my favorite decision I ever made! I love our late night pillow talks and I love that you try so hard to humor me and listen to me even when you are so tired and just want to sleep.  I love listening to the funny things you say in your sleep like "that reminds me of doctor suess" and "I'm giving patrick my insides for his birthday."  I love waking up next to you and spending all that time cuddling in bed even though we should be getting ready for school, because in the end you matter more than being on time to class.  I love that I can call you or text you anytime during the day to complain about something that has ruined or made my day, and you'll step out of class just to answer my phone call and listen to my every word or complaint.  I love how much you sacrifice for me and how hard you try to make me happy, from doing the dishes to acing your tests.  I love that we love cracker barrel, heroes, movies, popcorn, brownies, spoon it up, naps, arrested development, youtube, radio lab, NPR, Regina Spektor, Yann Tierson, California, Hotels, breakfast in bed, guitar, sun flower seeds, the temple, the gospel, frisbee golf, hot tubing, and oh so many other things.  I love how much you love me and how interested you are in my hobbies, especially dance.  I love that you are the greatest ping pong player on this earth!! I love our past, and I love that we have such a long future ahead of us.  I just love you!

UPDATE

Past...
I feel like the last two weeks have just been a blur! I can't even really tell you what has happend.  All I know is that Jordan and I finished Anatomy, and we've been spending a lot of time working at our various jobs.  OH AND we've developed a new addiction to watching heros, it has consumed every amount of spare time we have, we really need to get over it.
Future...
Jordan starts school tomorow! I'm really not ready for a new semester, our break wasn't long enough :( However, this weekend we're going to SLC to celebrate Jordan's B-Day, we're staying at the little america.  I'm super excited because I love hotels, and it will be nice to have two day with no responsibilities!!
Then I will have to start school on Monday.  Its going to be the craziest semester of my life!! Here's what its going to look like:
18.5 credits
an intenship at a dance studio
teaching a class at another dance studio
working at my job on campus
being an RA for our apartment complex
Ballet club president
visiting teaching coordinator
choreographing my senior project
and applying to grad school at the U
but then I will graduate!!!! i'm so excited!

Jordan's semester will be quite busy too, he's taking chemistry II, chemistry lab, biology, advanced writing, and physics.  As well as working at the MTC, doing some pharmacy shadowing, and tackling the RA thing with me.

Lets hope we survive!!!

Mesa Verdebefore our treacherous journey

CoLoRaDo!!

Well Jordan and I had a super adventurous weekend to say the least!!!  It all started on Wednesday night, the day before we were supposed to leave for a family reunion in colorado.  I had realized that I had NO idea were the reunion was going to be, I knew it was in the mountains somewhere, but I didn't even know which mountains.  So I proceeded to call everyone in my family, but everyone was already at the campsite and had no reception.  So Jordan and I left on thursday morning with a general idea of where we were supposed to go.  Luckily, about five hours into the drive I got a text from my dad with directions, and after a few wrong turns we made it!
On friday morning we went to Mesa verde.  Mesa Verde is a national park that contains over 600 cliff dwelling indian ruins.  It was really cool, but really HOT! And we could not for the life of us figure out, of all places someone could live, why they would choose to live on a cliff side, very dangerous and inconvenient.
Friday night we had a visitor at our tent.  My cousins had seen a bear earlier in the day, so when we went to bed I was very freaked out.  Luckily I don't think our visitor was a bear but rather a raccoon.  It was still really loud and kept rubbing against our tent and we were too afraid to open our door to see what it was.  So we lied very still until we feel asleep.
The next morning Jordan and I went on what was supposed to be about a 15 min fourwheeling ride.  But there was some miscommunication of what trail we were supposed to take.  Pretty soon we were VERY lost.  We ended up being gone for about 3 hours, by some miracle we made it back to our campsite and decided we were done with four wheelers for the trip.
We ended the camping trip with a very beautiful hike to a river.  Our nights were filled with yummy food and singing my the campfire and our mornings were filled with relaxation and delicious breakfasts.  But by Saturday we were tired of sleeping in the tent and decided to leave that night and stay in a hotel in moab to finish up our vacation.  We were lucky to get everything packed up right before rain started to down pour!! Once we made it to Moab we were very disappointed to find that EVERY hotel was full!! I've never seen so many NO VACANCY signs.  So we finished the long drive to Provo and ended the vacation a day early.
All-in-all it was such a fun vacation! I really love my family and I learn so much from them, I can't wait till the next reunion!
(Pictures to come soon!!)

How to Train Your Dragon

I'm posting this for Jordan...
How to train your dragon is the best movie of all time!! Its one everyone needs to see.  It will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between :)

Our Busy Life!

Well I think it's official that this is the busiest time of our life thus far! We're both taking Anatomy which is 8 hours in class a week and probably 12 hours of studying a week, its pretty much consumed us, but it is fascinating. Jordan is working at the MTC (20 hours a week), I'm still working at BYU (20 hours a week), and on top of it we are RA's for our apartment complex (55 hours a month).  I'm also taking two other classes (15 hours a week) as well as taking care of duties as the ballet club president and doing an internship with a dance studio (4 hours a week). Just for fun I added it up and found out I have 73 hours of my week (10 hours a day Monday-Sunday) dedicated to these various responsibilities, that leaves just enough time to shower, eat three meals and get some sleep.  We haven't been able to do anything fun since the semester started and we keep having to deny invites to family and friend outings.  BUT life goes on, and we will push through knowing that it will be so worth it in the end :)
replace "twitter" with "blog" ;)

On the plus side we finally got our TAX RETURN after waiting six months!!!

I WANT IT!!!!

So I discovered something so cute and amazing and I want it.  Its a little cabin and I want to build it in some beautiful mountain range and Jordan and I can go there whenever we want to get away.  This is what I want it to look like....

Maybe Jordan will build it for our five year anniversary or something :)

Jordan's Request

So Jordan insisted that I blog about an incident we had yesterday....
So we were stopped at a stop light and we noticed a runner.  He was waiting to cross the street and he was doing the little jog in place thing.  We first found it humorous because of his outfit, bright red SHORT shorts, bright red shoes, whacky glasses, and no shirt.  Then Jordan busted out laughing, I asked him what was so funny.  He said, "Imagine that he's dancing".  So I did, it was quite funny, and to make it even better we blasted the cheesiest song we could find on the radio.  So next time you see a runner jogging in place turn up the radio and imagine he's dancing to the tune:)

Blessings here, blessings there, blessings everywhere!!!!!

WOW! The Lord has truly blessed Jordan and I, we must be doing something right. To start with, ever since we moved into the  Branbury we have been hoping and praying to get the job as RA's.  Well we finally got the position and we are so excited to have a major reduction in our monthly rent! Now we'll actually have money to save for Jordan to go to Pharmacy school! I could really go on and on how the Lord blesses our lives everyday with health, and school, and just everything!!!

CALIFORNIA!!!

Jordan and I spent last week in California with his family.  It was an awesome vacation full of lots of fun and exciting things! I'll let the pictures tell the story...
We spent the first two days with my sister. I don't get to see her very often so it was really nice to visit. She is amazing and her children are so darling.  They had fun playing with Jordan (regardless of what it looks like I promise jordan isn't abusing the child :))

My sister is a marvelous mom and such a good example to me.
After a few nights with my sister we met up with Jordan's family and did all sorts of fun activities for the remainder of the week!

We went to a Padre game.  It was fun for the first little while and then I got a little bored.  We were also really cold, Jordan was innovative and used newspapers to keep his legs warm, ha!

We went to the beach of course!! We decided to be creative and we made jump ropes out of sea weed, we had fun attempting double dutch. We also got REALLY sun burned.

We got to go to Disney Land! It was fun but we decided its more for little kids.  We ended up going on Splash Mountain and Jordan said I wouldn't get wet, he was wrong...

On the drive back from California we ended up having a few car troubles, so we decided it would be good to stop in Vegas for the night. We had a blast! It was fun having our own mini vacation.
We eventually made it home and had to face many tests and lots of catching up, but it was a wonderful vacation!!!

Marriage is good for your grades!!

In the past few days I had a Statistics Midterm and Jordan had a Chemistry Midterm, and we are so excited to announce that we both received an (in case the picture doesn't show up its an A-)

I know, I know its not an A, but still pretty good :)

Social Weekend

We had a very good, busy weekend! It started with our date night (Friday). We went out to eat at Yamato a yummy Japanese restaurant and they gave us free ice cream! After that Jordan was so kind and let me shop around at TJmax while he stayed in the car and studied, what a sweetie! Then we went home and watched our Netflix Movie (Netflix is definitely the best thing to happen to us since our marriage! we love it) 12 Angry Men.  It was a very old, black and white film, and the whole movie took place in a jury room.  It was surprisingly good, we really liked it!
Saturday morning Jordan worked and then took a chemistry test, while I studied for my stats midterm.  This semester has definitely been packed full of tests for us!  Then our weekend got Social, which is something that doesn't happen very often! We went on a super fun triple date with our friends the Jimenez's and the Jones' (Ill be the first to admit I don't really know how you are supposed to make a name ending in "s" plural, so I just stuck an apostrophe on it!).  We went out to eat and then the Jones' convinced us to come over and watch New Moon.  That is such an awful movie, and I think we made fun of it the whole time! And I am just so frustrated that Edward (Rob Pattinson) doesn't have a hot bod, I mean he's Edward he is supposed to have the body of a greek god! And I have so many other complaints but I'll stop there.
Sunday was very busy! We went to church then I went home teaching with Jordan because he didn't have a companion, then I had to rush to do my visiting teaching so I could get home in time for our home teachers! Then we hurried and made dinner for company that was coming over. All in all we made Friends with Eight new people! We were so proud of our selves, and our dinner was delicious :)!!
I googled "friends" and this is the picture I found, SO CUTE!!!
