I Love You Jordan!! part II

So Jordan is just so extremely wonderful and I need to blog about him again. Every day I spend with him just gets more and more wonderful. He is so perfect for me and so sweet to me. On Friday he sent me the most perfect email, it was so sweet and it almost made me cry. On Friday night, he took me on a wonderful date, and even though I was really grumpy he went out of his way to do whatever it took to make me happy, and he did make me happy. He designed a beautiful ring for me, it was quite an ordeal but he worked it all out and I love it! On Saturday he offered to stay in the Library all day so I could use his car! On Sunday he drove all the way down from alpine in the very scary weather just to be with me when I had my interview from the stake president for a temple recommend. This morning he was late to a study group so he could drive me to work. What a sweetheart!!! I love you Jordan!

Crazy Wonderful Weekend!!!

So I had quite an eventful weekend. Starting on Thursday I had the wonderful opportunity of having a mole removed. The location of this mole was rather unfortunate, and I had to have stitches! It was a rather awkward and painful experience. This same day I was supposed to dance for my ballet final, well because of the location of the stitches and the fact that my whole leg was numb, I wasn't able to dance. My teachers were understanding and my grade shouldn't be affected...
On Friday I worked all day, and for lunch we had a white elephant gift exchange, I was extremely lucky and I got a sentsy, which will be perfect to go in Our new apartment.
Friday night was magnificent. Jordan picked me up for a date and we went to Tacanos. Unfortunately there was an hour and a half wait, so to kill the time Jordan took me to get a caramel apple and then took me to target to pick out a new pair of shoes. After we ate, Jordan took me on a Christmas Cruise down provo river, the river was lined with christmas lights and they played christmas music. It was so much fun!! After this we went on a quest to find a swing set we played on exactly a year ago were Jordan was planning on proposing with the real ring. After searching for an hour we couldn't find it so we gave up and went home. By this time I kind of had a hunch that Jordan was planning on asking me and this made me really excited. So when we got to my apartment I told him that I didn't need a huge elaborate proposal, I just wanted the ring already. He seemed displeased with this and we called it a night. He knocked on my door five minutes later with a box in his hand. He handed it to me and I opened it to find nothing inside, then he got down on one knee and pulled out the BEAUTIFUL ring from his pocket and asked me to marry him again. It was really sweet! and I LOVE my ring!! Thank you Jordan!!!
On saturday I went to a relief society breakfast, it was delicious. Then I had a ballet showcase party at my apartment, which was way fun. I spent the whole rest of the day running so many errands and getting my hair done while Jordan was doing homework and then having a bachelor party.
On sunday I got my temple recommend, it was very exciting! I can't wait till Friday when I receive my endowments and then Saturday when I will be sealed to Jordan! Later I went to Alpine to hear Jordan give a talk, he did a wonderful job. We then went back to Provo so Jordan could work on homework while I began packing. Around eight thirty I left Jordan at my apartment so I could return a red box movie. After I dropped the movie off I realized it was ward prayer time. I decided I would go since it was my last sunday. Well I didn't tell Jordan this was my plan. Fifteen minutes went by and Jordan began to get worried. He tried calling me, but I didn't have my phone. He went outside and saw that the car was there and was worried that I had walked to the red box. So he began walking to find me, he got really worried when he got all the way to red box and there was no sign of me. In the meantime I returned to my apartment to find him not there, and i had six missed phone calls from him. We finally found each other and he was relieved that I was ok. I'm sorry Jordan!!

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

So on October 24th, exactly 364 days since mine and Jordan's first date, Jordan popped the question!!!!!! Yes it finally happened!!! After a year of uncertainties, a few break ups, and me almost submitting my mission papers, we decided to get married. I'll admit at times it was really hard for me to be patient, which is why we broke up a few times, but it was soooooooo worth it!!! Jordan and I have learned so much over the past year and we wouldn't have had it happen any other way. We are so excited to be married in the ABQ New Mexico Temple on December 19th 2009!! And we are looking forward to building a life together and learn even more about each other. I love you Jordan!!

Ok, planning a wedding has been quite different then I expected, and its been an adjustment.
An apartment...
So once Jordan and I decided we were going to get married I immediately started looking for a place to live, MAN it was stressful!! married housing is expensive, and good apartments are few and far between. However, after a lot of searching we were lucky to find a good one!! Its a little more pricey than what we wanted, but it is furnished, which will be very nice!!! We are excited to have our own little apartment together. Jordan even bought a picture of Christ to hang up and books to put on our book shelf, he's so cute :)
A Dress....
Oh boy, finding a dress was soooooo stressful!!! I went to about five places to try on dresses and tried on about 20 at each place! I hated almost all of them, and the ones that I kinda liked were WAY over priced!! I can't believe how much someone will charge for a dress you'll only wear once! Well one day I was looking online and I found the exact dress that I wanted for $170!! it was almost too good to be true! the only problem is that its from a little company in China, so I'm a taking a huge risk trusting them to make it right and trusting it will get here on time. I really hope it works out!!!

Honeymoon...
So Jordan's dad promised all of his kids that if they get married in the temple he would send them to Hawaii for a week!!! So we're going to hawaii for our honeymoon and I am sooooo excited!! Its going to be a perfect break from the cold weather here in Utah.
Registering...
Jordan and I had so much fun registering, in face I think Jordan had more fun than I did. We registered at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond, I hope we get some good stuff.
My Ring...
So I am currently wearing a plastic ring because Jordan is designing the real one. He said it should be done in a few weeks and I can't wait!!

Dreams do Come ture!!

So I've come to the conclusion that I can predict the future with my dreams!!!! Here are some Examples...
The night before my sister had her first baby, I dreamed that she gave birth and that it was a girl, and it happened the next day
One night I dreamed that I was riding in an elevator and it started falling and it crashed and all the glass for the mirrors shattered. The next day when I came home from school I found the elevator to my dorm room was being worked on, they were replacing all the mirrors, thus they were shattering the old ones to remove them!
One night I dreamed that my parents car got broken into and a few weeks later it did!
One night i dreamed that my previous room mate Adrienne called me, that my other room mate, Sarah, got engaged and that Jordan and I got back together. The next day, Adrienne did call me. Sarah didn't get engaged but she told me how here mom was looking at places in Maryland to hold a wedding reception. And a few weeks later, Jordan and I DID get back together!!
And the most recent one...I dreamed that my bike got stolen...a few weeks later it went missing...while it was missing I had two dreams that I found it...and today, I found it!!

WOW!! i have super human powers! I'm like Joseph of Egypt!

First Days of School

Well I have good news and bad news...
Good news is that I got accepted on to Ballet Showcase at BYU! So I will finally get to perform!! The audition was mega hard, but I went into it without and expectations, I figured if I didn't make it on I would just try again next year. But let me tell you, there was nothing better then seeing my name on the list!!
Bad news is that someone stole my bike!!! I can't believe it, on BYU campus even!! I filed a police report and I really hope it shows up, its a pain to walk 30mins to school everyday!!

THINGS I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN MY FIRST SEMESTER AT BYU...

-you can rent lockers! it sure beats hauling your books around everywhere.
-the library is the most productive place to study
-the 2nd floor in the library place classical music
-one five subject notebook sure beats carrying around five seperate binders
-doing the assigned readings will ALWAYS help you do better in class
-walking around with a smile on your face makes your day so much better
-the Tanner Building elevator is the way to go
-there are practice rooms in the HFAC
-History 221 is HARD!
-going to bed early and waking up early is the way to go
-study groups are worth it!
-review sessions are pointless
-talking to your teachers about anything makes them more forgiving

Sometimes I Worry Myself

I did so many things wrong at work today that I can officially call myself an idiot!

Let's talk about it...

1. I went to go take measurements and pictures of furniture only to have to return ten minutes later because I did it all wrong!

2. I made about five unnecessary phone calls that made me look like an idiot

3. I had to reprint four different things at five different times because I did it in portrait form when it was supposed to be landscape
4. I saved a document in the wrong folder and made my boss freak out because she couldn't find it

5. I filled out a specification form for a file cabinet completely wrong, and once again felt the wrath of my boss

6. I picked out ten fabrics for my boss, guess how many she liked...one! only one!

7. I put together a form for paints in a building only to find out after I had finished the whole thing that I was putting in the wrong information!

8. Once I put in the right information I printed it and then realized I still had a bunch more information to put in

9. I wrote in the wrong price zone for a chair someone ordered, which would have cost them 100 extra dollars if my boss didn't catch it
10. I used a camera to take pictures of furniture and then locked it up before I got the pictures of the darn thing

11. I put together a form for my boss only to have her point out that I spelled 'below' with two L's

I really worry myself sometimes!

On a happier note, I'm still alive, and I still have a job! And even though I've done all of these dumb things I'm still happy, and surprisingly not discouraged!

Security what!?

What's with the security checks on the internet? you know, the ones that come up anytime you try to send a facebook message to multiple people, or download something, or create an online account. I understand their purpose, but do they really have to be so difficult to figure out?! I mean really, I have to really concentrate and read over and over again until I actually get it right! They bring un-wanted stress to my life!

Katy Ann Rogers

My name is Katy Ann Rogers, its taken a while but I think I can finally honestly say that I love my name! All growing up I never felt like my name suited me. I remember one time I was at the water park, a boy came up to me, told me I was cute, and wanted to know my name. I remember thinking, "I can't tell him my real name, he'll think I'm a loser, no one cool has the name Katy". So I told him my name was Sara.
I don't know why I used to hold this attitude toward my name, I just did. But now I love my name, and this is why...
1. Its short! I can easily fill in the bubbles on standardized tests and have room to spare!
2. It may not be a unique name, but on a scale of 1-10 i think it receives an 8 for uniqueness of spelling.
3. Its not short for anything, people can just call me by one name, no nick-names necessary
4. My initials spell kar!(not that cool, but at least they spell something)
5. I think I counted about five girls with the name Katie(y) in my ballet class last semester. Which means, girls with this name are pretty much destined to be good ballerinas! thank goodness
6. My siblings picked my name, I think that is pretty special
7. My last name is pretty famous you have to admit, and I always get asked cool questions like, "are you related to Mr. Rogers?"
8. Just like my first name has a simple spelling so does my last! Rogers instead of Rodgers!
9. A word about my middle name...hmmmm...by itself, not so cool, but put Katy in front and Rogers after and you've got a perfect combination!
10. Rogers evolved from my great great great great ect. French grandfather Fitzrogers
So thats it, my name is the best name I could ever ask for:)

I Gave in

Well after 21 years of not having a blog I decided it was time to start one. The only problem is I'm not quite sure how these things work. So I decided I would look up the definition of the word "blog". I found out that its simply short for a weblog, so it is essentially a log, or an online journal or diary. Everyone in this world probably already new that, but I didn't, so now that I do I guess I can get going on this thing. Well, I absolutely love my life! no complaints here. The Lord has truly blessed me in every aspect. I go to a great school, I have an awesome job, I have an amazing boyfriend, I have the best family in the world, the list goes on and on!! I am currently majoring in Dance at BYU and I should graduate in April 2011. I'm anxious to finally finish my schooling but nervous for what will come next. I currently am working full time at the BYU planning Department as an assistant to the Interior Designers. I am dating a wonderful young man named Jordan Barton, our relationship has been quite a roller coaster but right now everything is going great and we are anxious to find out what the future holds for us. So that is a quick summary of my life as of right now, there will be more to come...
